For 40 years, Russia and China have been working together to create amazing opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
The Russian Youth Union and the All-China Youth Federation, the two leading youth organizations in these countries, have been at the forefront of this effort.
In recent years, their cooperation has grown stronger and deeper. They've developed exciting new projects and initiatives that help young people start and grow their own businesses. This partnership has not only expanded but also improved in quality, making it easier for young entrepreneurs from both countries to succeed.
Relations between youth organizations in Russia and China began back in 1993. Since then, they’ve been working together on a wide range of projects. These projects aren't just about culture and humanitarian efforts; they're also focused on helping young people start and grow their own businesses.
Today, Russia and China are teaming up on big projects in infrastructure, transport, and energy. Young entrepreneurs are at the heart of this cooperation. They are eager to lead the global economy in the 21st century and are playing a crucial role in strengthening the bond between the two countries.
Every year, these young businesspeople become more active, launching exciting new projects and offering innovative products and services that people really want. They're not just keeping up with the world's top companies—they’re competing with them and even taking on leadership roles.
Based on their strategic goals, the Russian Youth Union and the All-China Youth Federation developed the "Russian-Chinese Youth Business Incubator" (RCYBI) project in 2016.
This project facilitates and accelerates the adaptation of young people in business.
RCYBI is a unique acceleration program designed to bring Russian projects to the Chinese market and attract Chinese investments into the Russian economy. The program promotes the development of Russian-Chinese business projects, where young entrepreneurs from both countries acquire all the necessary skills and knowledge for doing business in Russia and China. Residents of the incubators also have the unique opportunity to find reliable partners for joint foreign economic activities.
The RCYBI program is divided into two stages - Russian and Chinese, each lasting 14 working days.
In the Russian part, recognized experts in working with China teach participants all the intricacies of doing business with partners from the People's Republic of China.
In China, residents receive comprehensive opportunities for this, meet with the leadership of large companies from the sectors they are interested in, and get acquainted with investors. The markets of Russia and China are among the fastest growing and most promising, making this cooperation very promising.
The RCYBI project of the Russian Youth Union is based on the main goal of the union itself - to help young people realize their potential.
Over three years, more than two hundred young entrepreneurs from both countries have participated in the work of the joint youth business incubators. The RYU takes pride in the business cases that have already been successfully implemented by project participants in their territories.
The project's geography has included 24 cities: 12 Russian and 12 Chinese, where RCYBI operates.
The main outcome of their work is the signed cooperation agreements with partners. For instance, in 2018, more than fifty agreements and commercial contracts were signed at the RCYBI platform. In 2017, the total volume of contracts in the field of trade and investment exceeded $320 million.
"The RCYBI format allowed us to help young entrepreneurs from Russia bring their products and services to the Chinese market," said Tatiana Seliverstova, Deputy Chair of the Russian Youth Union, to "Breath of China."
"We strive to create all conditions so that our young entrepreneurs think globally and know how to create a competitive product or service that will be in demand on the international market. For example, the large Chinese home appliance company Haier uses industrial robots with software developed by RCYBI residents. And the people of China have grown fond of the honey cake, which they call 'Russian tiramisu,' and enjoy it with our fragrant Ivan tea."
Over three years, more than 50 international business projects have been implemented through RCYBI, many of which have received unequivocal support from companies in the People's Republic of China. Their headquarters, controlling the launched programs, now operate not only in Russia but also in China, and the products and services are in demand on the global market.
The RYU project managed to unite specialists from different fields on its platform.
As a result, the Russian-Chinese Youth Entrepreneurship Development Center was opened in Nanjing. It is located in a business district on the 5th floor of a building next to the skyscraper that houses the headquarters of Xiaomi's Nanjing division, a major global company. The possibility of opening similar centers in Russia, in Moscow and Ufa, is currently being explored.
In 2020, the implementation of RCYBI took place within the framework of the Year of Russian-Chinese Scientific, Technical, and Innovative Cooperation program.
In July-August 2020, a series of online educational events was organized for 140 Russian RCYBI residents. These events focused on the specifics of doing business with Chinese partners and on personal and professional development. Also, that year, with the support of Rosmolodezh, the International Online Forum "Evolution in the World of Technology" was held. Its main goal was to discuss modern innovative and technological trends in Russia and China. The online broadcast of the forum was viewed by more than 1,500 people, including 140 Russian RCYBI residents.
In 2021, the RCYBI project underwent a transformation, setting new goals and objectives.
One of the new partners in the project’s implementation was the All-Russian Public Organization of Small and Medium Businesses "OPORA RUSSIA."
During the operation of the Business Incubators in Russia, the organizers managed to facilitate the attraction of investments from Russia and China for the implementation of innovative projects by the Business Incubator residents. An expert community was formed to evaluate the innovative projects created by the residents.
In 2022, the project was implemented in 24 cities across Russia and China.
Let's stay competitive. Russia and China are betting on entrepreneurship and cooperation.
